Welcome to your Hamilton Music Festival!

The inaugural Hamilton Music Festival, founded in 2016 held classes in piano, voice and musical theatre.  Since then, we've added strings, woodwinds, classical guitar and choirs.  In 2023, the HMF was thrilled to return to an in-person format with no COVID-related restrictions!

Competitive music festivals across Canada offer musicians of all ages opportunities to share their talents and love of music.  At the Hamilton Music Festival, we strive to provide a friendly, supportive and inclusive competitive festival with participants joining us from private music studios, music schools and school programs in the Greater Hamilton region and southern Ontario.  The Hamilton Music Festival is open to all, contributing to the performance arts community.

We are grateful for support from donors, sponsors, adjudicators, music professionals, performance venue partners, the City of Hamilton and our registrants and their families for recognizing the HMF as a valuable contributor to cultural life.  In the summer of 2023, the HMF received a grant from the local Incite Foundation for the Arts (https://www.incitefoundation.ca), founded by Carl and Kate Turkstra of Turkstra Lumber whose vision was to 'incite' excitement in the Hamilton arts community.  Thank you everyone for the support!
